Verizon launches smartphone hotspot for sale

Verizon is offering its customers the chance to buy prepaid wifi internet hotspots that let them surf the web and access social media.

The wireless carrier said the Wi-Fi hotspots can be set up at home or at work, as well as in restaurants, bars, coffee shops and bars and anywhere with Wi-fi.

Customers can also set up hotspots to connect to their Verizon wireless devices.

They can also access Facebook, Twitter, Google and other services.

Verizon is not the only company offering Wi-FI hotspots, as other wireless carriers offer their own prepaid WiFi hotspots.

The company said it will begin selling its own Wi-Fios later this year.
